As one of the world’s leading website design and development firms, Americaneagle.com, along with partner PruTech Solutions, Inc., is proud to have been part of the recent launch of the new and greatly-improved New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) website - www.schools.nyc.gov. The site was launched in July.
“Students and families need access to information to be truly empowered. This new website gives them meaningful, translated, easy-to-navigate information, right from their mobile devices,” said Schools Chancellor Richard A. Carranza. “This website is designed to reach and support all New Yorkers, and I look forward to continuing to work with our communities to keep making it better and more responsive to their needs.”
Americaneagle.com President Michael Svanascini said, “A great education ignites young minds, uplifts their spirit, and prepares students for continuous intellectual growth. We’re extremely proud of the strategy, design and development work that culminated in this fantastic new website. We look forward to working with the NYCDOE as we constantly look to meet the needs of students, teachers, parents, and other users of the new site.”
The DOE used web analytics to make design decisions, as well as feedback from families. The new, streamlined site is mobile-ready and accessible for individuals with disabilities. "As a visually impaired parent, the recent redesign of the New York City Department of Education's website ‘equally’ allows me to access information regarding my children's education,” said Holly Bonner, a Staten Island public school parent and advocate.
The development of the new site was led by the DOE’s Division of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT), with collaboration from all DOE offices as well as partners including the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, the NYC Department of Information Technology + Telecommunications (DOITT), the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics, and the National Federation of the Blind.
